That students will respect each other and themselves
Respect is an important quality as it affects many behaviours. If a person lacks respect for someone or something, a consequence is often that they treat that person or thing poorly.
Discussion points
- What does ‘respect’ mean to you? What does it look/sound/feel like?
- Does a person need to respect themselves before they can respect other? Explain your thinking.
- Is it possible to treat someone kindly – always – if we don’t respect them? Explain your thinking.
- Should respect be earned? Or do humans deserve unconditional respect? Explain your thinking.
