Learning activity 2a – Constructing our own standards of behaviour

We tend to agree with rules and expectations when they align with our own standards of behaviour. This activity is about questioning our own standards, and seeing where the line is between what we each think is appropriate behaviour and which behaviours we might think are inappropriate, even though they might be permitted.

In the school context the following expectations are common in Australian schools:

That students will try their best to improve

That students will respect each other and themselves

That students will be collaborative

That students will act with integrity
