Resource: Distress and eustress
Distress vs eustress

There are two key outcomes of engaging in a process of change.
Distress, which is bad, and eustress, which is good. Eustress is a result of engaging in a process of change - which ultimately makes us feel good. It's a form of productive stress. Think about it as pushing yourself to a level of stress you can tolerate. It is important for us to understand our boundaries. When we push ourselves beyond the level of productive stress, into a state where we feel overwhelmed, we not only feel distressed, but are more likely to experience fatigue, exhaustion, and burnout.
